Serendipity Plugin: Tooltips

Posted by: Enrico Stahn In: Uncategorized

[[image uploads/s9y_logo.serendipityThumb.png alt="Serendipity" class="alignright"]] I spent some free time hours of the last two days for development a Serendipity plugin called {{serendipity_event_tooltips}}. This plugin add Erik Bosrup’s [http://www.bosrup.com/web/overlib/ overLIB]-Script to Serendipity and implements methods that allow to display the fullsized image after the users mouse moved over the appendant thumbnail.

You can download the Plugin and use it for your own purposes. The status is ”’ALPHA”’ because i’ve tested only by myself and their is some dirty code inside. If you have some ideas or wishes, check the todo list beneath at this entry or write a comment.

”’Download”’

”’Install Instructions”’

# Download the {{serendipity_event_tooltips}}-Plugin
# Upload the unpacked file to your {{serendipity/plugins}} directory.
# Use {{Appearance > Configure Plugins > Click here to install a new event plugin}} to install the plugin.
# Ready to go.

”’TODO”’

* Option: set border color
* Option: set background color
* Code: remove trash like s9y-tooltips* stuff
* Option: text replacements like [s9y-tooltips This is a Tooltip]Foo Bar text with a tooltip[/s9y-tooltips]

Now the “overLIB” link in your entry should really display a tooltip as a show-off :-)

Nice, though!

You right, i forgot the demo page. I’ve add the serendipity logo as demo. Try it and move your mouse over the image ;-)

Normal links not yet supported. As tribute for your great blog software, i will implement this soon as possible.
